Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of all school staff, I extend a warm welcome back to all families after the summer holidays. A special welcome to the pupils and families of our new Junior Infants and to new families who joined our school. Please take note of the following items of information:

1. Return to School.

Thanks to all families who are helping settle their children back into school. Our Covid 19 plan has been updated and is available on our website. If your child is sick or displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 please do not send them to school. We want to keep our whole school community safe and well. Please return your child’s Health Declaration Form to the school if you have not already done so.

2. Morning Drop.

The school gate between the Senior and Junior schools is opened daily between 9.00 am - 9.15 am. Children go from here onto the yard which is supervised. The pupils will then sanitise their hands on entering the classroom. All pupils now know which door they are to enter and exit the school building.

3. Afternoon Collection.

Different classes are released at the following times: 1st Class: - 2.40 pm at Junior School Gates. 2nd Class: - 2.40 pm at Junior School Gates. 3rd Class: - 2.45 pm at the gate between the two schools where they go in the morning. 4th Class: - 2.40 pm at the brown door beside the gate between the two schools. 5th Class: - 2.40 pm at the gate between the two schools. 6th Class: - 2.45 pm at the door beside the school offices. Pupils are asked to make their way to their parents/guardians in the school car park and then head home together.

4. Masks.

We ask that masks are worn during drop off and collection time. This is to protect our whole school community.

5. School Uniform.

Junior and Senior Infants pupils are permitted to wear their tracksuits every day. All other classes should wear their uniform except of their allocated PE days. School tracksuits are available to buy from in Kidstuff, Trimgate Street, Navan.

6. Collecting Pupils Early.

If you need to collect your child/children early from school for any reason you will have to call to the office. If your child is in Junior Infants – 3rd Class the secretary will inform the child/children over the Intercom and you will have to meet them at the Junior School front door. When returning a child from the Junior building you will have to inform the secretary that you have returned and bring the child to the front door of the Junior building where a staff member will meet them. Children going to and from appointments from 4th – 6th Class can be collected and admitted through reception on return to school. Parents/guardians are not permitted to enter the school building except by appointment.

7. School Book Rental Fee.

The book rental fee for pupils from Junior Infants to Sixth Class is €60 for 1 child in school/€110 for 2 children and €150 for three children. This includes copies and Art & Craft money. Thank you to all families who have paid this already. Please bring the money in to the school office, as soon as possible. The school has to pay the book shop for all of the books and your contribution is required.

8. School Car Park.

Please reverse in to your car parking space as it is safer to see children in front of the car as you begin to drive out. Please be patient when driving out of school.

9. Change of Phone No/Address.

Please inform the teacher/secretary if you have moved house or changed your phone number recently. It is very important that we have up to date information in the event that your child is sick, has an accident at school or we require to send you a text.

10. Letters Requested by Parents/Guardians.

If you require a letter from the school for child benefit/social welfare etc. you must give the school at least 24 hours’ notice. Letters will not be issued on the same day as requested.

11. School Meals Scheme.

The school meals scheme is back up and running. Glanmore Foods provide the service. Under Government regulations, pupils will only be allowed order (ham) one day per week. All meat products in sandwiches are Halal sourced. I would encourage all families to avail of this scheme. Children must supply their own drink (only Milk or Water).

12. School Calendar.

School Calendars with the school closures for the school year will be sent home today with this letter. They are also available on our school website
