Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome back to all families after the Christmas holidays. Wishing al members of our school community a happy and healthy 2018. Please take note of the following items of information:

1. Swimming Lessons for 2nd/3rd/4th Classes and Rooms 7/8.

Swimming for the above classes begins next Tuesday, January 16th for nine weeks. Please see separate note given to pupils and return the consent form to the class teacher, as soon as possible.

2. Early School Closure.

School will close for all pupils (except Room 7/8) at 1.45 pm on Thursday, January 18th, 2018. This is to facilitate a staff meeting. Please collect your child promptly at 1.45 pm on that day.

3. No Homework Club.

There will be no Homework Club on Thursday, January 18th, 2018 as the school is closing at 1.45 pm for a staff meeting.

4. MMR Vaccination for Junior Infants.

MMR Vaccinations for Junior Infants will take place in the school on Thursday, January 25th, 2018. Please fill in the form and return it to the class teacher, as soon as possible. Forms have to be completed whether you are allowing your child to be vaccinated or not.

5. First Penance Ceremony.

The First Penance Ceremony for pupils of Second Class will take place in St Mary’s Church on Wednesday, January 31st at 8.00 pm. Further details will be sent home closer to the date to Second Class pupils.

6. Extra-Curricular Activities.

  • Monday: Green Team – 2.45 – 3.30 pm
  • Tuesday: Basketball – 2.45 – 3.30 pm
  • Wednesday: School League – 2.45 – 3.30 pm
  • Monday - Thursday: Homework Club – 2.45 – 3.45 pm

7. School Attendance.

Well done to the 103 pupils in our school who received Attendance Certificates for missing 3 days or less at school from September – December 2017.

8. Punctuality.

School begins at 9.15 am each morning. At 9.30 am the gates between the two school buildings will be locked and all pupils who arrive after that time are required to come to the office with their parent and sign in. This will be strictly adhered to and parents will have to sign in their child/children to school if arriving after 9.30 am.

9. Change of Phone No/Address.

Please inform the teacher/secretary if you have moved house or changed your phone number recently. It is very important that we have up to date information in the event that your child is sick or has an accident at school.
