Please take note of the following items of information:
1. Scoil Mhuire Mass for Deceased Members of our Community.
This Sunday, November 10th the 1.00 pm Mass in St. Mary’s Church is for the deceased relatives and friends of the Scoil Mhuire Community. All classes have completed the Lists of the Dead and these will be brought up to the altar by pupils at the 1.00 pm Mass on Sunday. Parents and families are welcome to attend.
2. Science Week.
Next week is Science Week and we are holding ‘Science for Fun’ day on Thursday, November 14th. Classes from 1st to 6th will participate in this activity and our Thanks to Ms. Craughan, who is organising the day. Also as part of science week, Mr Guinan’s 6th Class will be visiting a Science Fair in St. Michael’s Loreto Secondary School, Athlumney, Navan at 11.45 am until lunchtime on Friday, November 15th.
3. Visit of Professor M. Senge.
As part of Science Week, we will welcome Scientist, Professor Mathias Senge, of Trinity College, Dublin who will come to the school to work with 6th Class students. Parents are welcome to come along and our thanks to Mrs McAteer who organizes this workshop.
4. Parent/Teacher Meetings.
The annual Parent/Teacher Meetings will be held in the school on Thursday, November 28th, three weeks time, starting at 1.45 pm. Teachers will be sending home appointment times in the next two weeks. Please make every effort to attend your child’s meetings to receive up to date reports on their progress.
5. School Closure.
Scoil Mhuire will be closed on Monday, December 2nd, for teacher training in the new Primary Language Curriculum.
6. Staff Changes.
Ms Boyle will take over responsibility for 2nd Class from Monday, November 18th as Mrs Gordon is going on Maternity Leave. There will be a change in Room 7 staff from Wednesday, November 13th as Ms Sandra McKeever, SNA is being replaced by Mrs Maria Briscoe.
7. Change of Phone No/Address.
Please inform the teacher/secretary if you have moved house or changed your phone number recently. It is very important that we have up to date information in the event that your child is sick or has an accident at school.
