Newsletter, 8th June 2020
As the end of a very unusual school year approaches I wish to thank all families for their support and encouragement throughout the year, especially in since March 11th when our school was closed. I also wish to thank you all for engaging with the work on the school website since mid March and doing your best for our children in these difficult and challenging circumstances. To help us prepare for next September we will need your help in a number of matters. Please take note of this information and dates for dropping school books/uniforms to school.
1. Book Rental.
This year we are extending the Book rental Scheme to all classes, Junior Infants to Sixth Class. The cost per pupil is still €60. For two members of the same family it is €110 and for three members of the same family it is €150. Last year many families paid this money before the summer holidays and their children received their books immediately on return to school in September.
The school will be open on:
- Friday, June 19th
- Monday, June 22nd
- Tuesday, June 23rd
for families to pay this fee from 10 am to 3 pm. Please enter the school by the Secretary’s door ( normal entrance) and proceed in to the school hall where you can pay the Book Rental Fee. You can exit the hall via the door out to the carpark.
Any family wishing to pay the money directly in to the school bank account please write your child’s name as reference when paying online :
2. Return of this Year’s Books.
Pupils from Junior Infants to Fifth Class who have books at home since March 12th are now asked to return these books to the school on:
- Friday, June 19th
- Monday, June 22nd
- Tuesday, June 23rd.
School will be open between 10 am and 3 pm for families to return the books Please enter the school by the Secretary’s door ( normal entrance) and proceed in to the school hall where you can pay the Book Rental Fee. You can exit the hall via the door out to the carpark.
Please place the books in a plastic bag with your child’s name on it as they have to be left untouched for a number of days before we can get them ready for next year’s pupils. The school only requires the following books:
- J/Infants: None
- S/infants: 3 Readers
- 1st & 2nd Class: English Readers
- 3rd – 4th Class: Maths Book/English Readers/Irish Readers/Religion Book/Small World
- 5th & 6th Class: Maths Book/English Readers/Religion Book.
Please do not return any books which have been written in. We need the return of all books for our Book Rental Scheme to remain at €60 per pupil.
3. School Uniform Donations.
Any family leaving the school we would be grateful if you would donate the uniforms/tracksuits that your son/daughter wore. Any other family who have old uniforms/tracksuits at home please send them in for our store. An empty blue wheelie bin will be left daily at the Sen school front door for you to place them in.
4. School Reports.
School Reports will be posted out to families in the week of June 12th to Friday, June 19th. All families should have received them by Mon & Tues June 22nd/23rd.
