School will reopen for all pupils on Tuesday, 1st September 2020 unless Government advice changes.

Welcome back to all families after the Christmas break. Please take note of the following items of information:
1. COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
All families were issued with information regarding the Coronavirus yesterday. The information is also available on our school website, www.scoilmhuirenavan.ie. Schools will remain open until the Government declares otherwise.
2. World Book Day.
All classes will celebrate World Book Day tomorrow, Friday, March 6th. There are lots of activities organised and thank you to all parents who are taking part.
3. Ceremony of Light/6th Class.
Pupils from 6th Class who are making their Confirmation in May 2020 will have their Ceremony of Light at the 1.00 pm Mass in St. Mary’s Church this Sunday, March 8th. This is part of their Confirmation preparation and all pupils must attend with their parents/families. Please be seated in the church at 12.50 pm.
4. Lá Glas on Friday, March 13th.
On Friday, March 13th, we will celebrate a Lá Glas in Scoil Mhuire. All pupils are asked to wear an item of Green clothing on the day. This is part of our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. There will be a number of other activities organised on the day.
5. St Patrick’s Day Holiday Weekend.
School will be closed from Monday, March 16th to Wednesday, March 18th inclusive. 6.
6th Class Newgrange Trip.
Pupils from 6th Class will visit Newgrange monument on Thursday, March 26th during school time. The school will fund this trip.
7. Early Closure.
School will close for all pupils at 12.30 pm on Friday, March 27th to facilitate Staff Training on the Primary Language Curriculum. School will close at 1.45 pm on Wednesday, April 1st to facilitate Staff Training on G.D.P.R.
8. World Autism Awareness Day.
World Autism Awareness Day is on Thursday, April 2nd. We are asking all pupils to wear an item of blue clothing on that day in recognition of people with autism and those who love and support them. All pupils are asked to bring in one euro each which we will use for an activity in the school for our pupils who have ASD.
9. Easter Holidays.
School will close for Easter Holidays on Friday, 3rd April at 12 noon. School will re-open on Monday, 20th April 2020.
