All pupils are now settling back into the school routine and it is great to see them back. I wish to record the thanks of the staff for all of your work with them during the lockdown. We look forward to resuming some normality in the days, weeks and months ahead. Please take note of the following items of information:
1. Covid-19 School Response Plan.
All staff will continue to implement the measures to help stop the spread of the virus in our school. Staff will:
- Continue to wear face masks;
- Pupil movement inside and outside the school will be limited;
- The class Pod system remains in place;
- Physical distancing will continue in Senior classes;
- Sneezing and coughing etiquette is maintained;
- Well ventilated rooms and corridors will continue.
Parents must wear facemasks when dropping off and collecting pupils and to observe social distancing at the drop off and collection times.
2. Parental Declaration Form.
All families have now signed the Parental Declaration Forms and returned them to the school. Thank you.
3. Entry & Exit Procedure.
School opens at 9.00 am for all pupils. Pupils from Junior Infants to Second Class go straight to their classrooms and pupils from Third – Sixth Class go outside to the Senior yard where they are collected at 9.15 am by their teachers. Junior and Senior Infants: Entry and Exit by the main door of the Junior School 9.00 am – 1.45 pm. First – Fourth Class: Entry via the gates between the two schools. First and Second Class: Exit via the front door of the Junior School at 2.40 pm. Third Class: Exit from the gates between the two schools at 2.45 pm. Fourth Class: Exit brown door of senior school beside their classroom at 2.40 pm. Fifth and Sixth Class: Entry via the door beside Mr. Devlin’s office. Fifth Class: exit at 2.40 pm via the gates between the schools. Sixth Class: Exit door beside Mr. Devlin’s office at 2.45 pm. Rooms 7/8 the procedure has not changed.
4. World Autism Day.
World Autism Day takes place on Friday, April 2nd 2021. We will celebrate it here in Scoil Mhuire this Wednesday, March 24th. Pupils are requested to wear in their favourite colour (one item is plenty) and bring in one euro and the money will be used towards the purchase of some equipment for the school’s ASD classes. Thank you.
5. School Car Park.
Parents are requested to reverse into the car parking spaces in the school car park at the drop off and collection times. This is a safer system for all of the pupils as drivers can see in front of their car when driving out.
6. School Easter Holidays.
School will close at 12.00 noon on Friday, March 26th and re-open on Monday, April 12th.
