Newsletter, 1st June 2021

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As the end of the school year is drawing to a close, please take note of the following items of information:

1. Book Rental for 2021/’22 School Year.

Last year we collected the Book Rental Fee in advance of the Summer and it was a great success. It also ensures that when pupils return in August/September, all of their books are in their classroom. The Book Rental charge remains at €60 per pupil, €110 for two family members and €160 for three family members. Next Wednesday and Thursday, June 9th and 10th will be the designated Book Rental Payment Days between 10.00 am and 12.30 pm. Please come in and have this fee paid in advance of next September.

2. First Penance.

The First Penance ceremony for Second Class pupils takes place on Thursday, June 10th at 6.30 pm in St. Mary’s Church. A further note to those pupils will follow later this week.

3. Fun Fitness Week.

As we cannot have a full school Sports Day this year, we are holding a ‘Fun Fitness Week’ from Monday, June 14th – Friday, June 18th. We will have a Zumba Dance teacher and a GAA coach visit to work with the pupils. Tracksuits and runners will be worn that week. If the weather is warm pupils may wear school appropriate shorts in black or grey to school.

4. School Reports.

School reports will be posted to pupils homes on Friday, June 18th. Parents will have all of the last week to contact teachers over any concerns they may have.

5. School Summer Holidays.

Scoil Mhuire will close on Friday, June 25th at 12 noon and re-open for all pupils on Tuesday, August 31st, 2021.

Yours sincerely,

Colm Devlin

School Principal
