Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please take note of the following items of information:

1. School Basketball Team.

The school basketball teams for boys and girls are currently participating in the Meath Schools’ Basketball League. We wish both teams the best of luck in all of their matches.

2. World Book Day.

Well done to all pupils and parents who participated in World Book Day last Friday in Scoil Mhuire. We had a wonderful day and thank you to Miss Flynn who co-ordinated all activities.

3. Department of Education & Skills Curriculum Evaluation.

Last Tuesday and Wednesday we had two inspectors from the Department of Education & Skills visiting the school for the two days, all classrooms were visited. They conducted a Curriculum Evaluation of the teaching of English in Scoil Mhuire. Our school has received an excellent report as a result of this evaluation and we are delighted to inform all families of this outcome.

4. Lá Glas on Thursday, March 14th.

We are celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge this week as part of the St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Scoil Mhuire. On Thursday all pupils are requested to wear an item of green clothing. There is no need to buy any green clothing. One item will suffice. I’m sure everyone has something green in their wardrobe.

5. Homework Club.

There will be no Homework Club this Thursday, March 14th. All pupils will go home at 2.45 pm. Homework Club will resume on Tuesday, March 19th.

6. Offertory Gifts at Weekend Masses.

The pupils of Second Class and those of Sixth Class will bring up the gifts at the 6.00 pm Mass on Saturdays and the 1.00 pm Mass on Sundays for the month of March. Well done to those who have already done this and we look forward to others doing so for the remainder of the month.

7. School Closure.

Scoil Mhuire will close this Friday, March 15th and Monday, March 18th as per the School Calendar. School will re-open on Tuesday, March 19th.

8. Change of Phone No/Address.

Please inform the teacher/secretary if you have moved house or changed your phone number recently. It is very important that we have up to date information in the event that your child is sick or has an accident at school.

Thank you for your co-operation.
