Letter to Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope this letter finds you and your families safe and well in these difficult times. We all look forward to returning to school at some stage in due course. Currently, we are closed until Tuesday, May 5th and we will be guided by further government announcements on the topic.

Thank you to all families who collected their child’s school textbooks in March. We had an excellent response and no doubt the children are delighted to have the books at home.

Navan Parish have issued a note regarding the probable postponement of the Confirmation and First Communion ceremonies. Rest assured they will be rescheduled at a later date. This note has been posted on the school website, www.scoilmhuirenavan.ie. Fr Shane Crombie, our school chaplain, sends his regards to all and he is remembering us in his prayers.

Class teachers have posted work for the pupils to cover the period Mon Apr 20th to Fri May 1st and this is also up on the website. Thank you to all families who are working hard with their children in these challenging circumstances. All work posted is a suggestion for the pupils & their parents. We understand that families will do their best in the circumstances, as they always do.

No doubt all pupils are practising their ball skills in soccer, Gaelic football & basketball. Please keep up the efforts and we look forward to resuming school league on our return to school.

Please keep safe and observe the HSE guidelines on social distancing. We look forward to meeting up when things return to normal and all of our friendships will be renewed.

Yours sincerely,

Colm Devlin

School Principal
