What a privilege it was to travel to Newgrange and see one of the world’s oldest monuments. Older than The Pyramids of Giza and Stonehenge.
We travelled with Pádraig O’ Brien buses and arrived to the centre with plenty of time to spare.
After receiving our wrist bands, we looked around the exhibition, crossed the suspension bridge and River Boyne.
After our lunch break, we travelled with the OPW bus to Newgrange. Our guide Siobhán explained about the importance of Newgrange, how the believed it was built and asked the children many questions. Lots of wonderful answers were given.
The children were divided into 2 groups, the 1st group went in while the other group looked around the outside of the tomb for some wonderful neolithic art.
On our return, groups switched.
Everyone was amazed by how big the passage tomb was outside but how small it was inside.
We are so grateful and lucky to have seen this incredible place.
